FBI Arrests Conservative Reporter For Working on January 6th Story

An investigative journalist from Blaze Media was arrested by the FBI for his coverage of the January 6 Capitol riot. Despite voluntarily surrendering to authorities, he was subjected to a public display known as a “perp walk.”

The arrest, which was recorded on video and shared by Blaze CEO Glenn Beck, depicts Steve Baker being led by FBI agents from a building to a car while handcuffed and without a jacket.

Baker faced four misdemeanor charges in connection with his coverage at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

The individual faces four charges, including entering or remaining in a restricted building without lawful authority, engaging in disorderly conduct, and participating in a demonstration within a capitol building.

Earlier this week, the FBI instructed Baker to turn himself in on Friday morning.

Baker was instructed by the FBI to show up at the field office in “shorts and sandals,” but he chose to arrive in a suit and tie instead.

In December, Baker revealed his anticipation of facing charges from the Justice Department related to his coverage of January 6.
