Another Leftwing Critic Of DeSantis ‘Book Ban’ Charged With Sex Crimes

In a completely unsurprising turn of events, another liberal who mocked attempts to prohibit the teaching of sex to elementary children has been charged with pedophilia.

Slade Sohmer, the ex-editor-in-chief of The Recount, was charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of dimensions of child pornography, the district attorney says in a press release.

Authorities received a tip in June that sparked an investigation into Sohmer, authorities say. Sohmer’s phones and multiple electronic devices were seized in October, according to the release and a police report reviewed by PEOPLE.

Detectives allegedly found more than a thousand explicit images and videos, hundreds of which depicted child sex abuse images, with children as young as three or four being assaulted, police say.

At least one of the videos was produced by Sohmer, authorities allege. More charges could follow once all the evidence is reviewed.

Investigators also say they found messages sent through Telegram Messenger in which Sohmer allegedly discussed luring, kidnapping and raping children with an unidentified individual, according to the police report.

In a now-deleted article from 2018, the liberal outlet Buzzfeed praised Sohmer for coming out as gay to fourth graders. The story, which is still available on the Wayback Machine internet archive, was titled “People Are Touched By This Writer’s Conversation With A Bunch of Fourth Graders,” according to The New York Post.

This is the second time in a week that liberals have been caught scrambling as it relates to pedophilia. In the Senate, prominent Democrat Dick Durbin of Illinois quickly shut down an attempt by Republicans to reveal Jeffrey Epstein’s flight logs
