Trump Calls for New Ban on Refugees From Gaza

On Monday, former president Donald Trump declared his support for a restriction on Gaza Strip refugee admissions.

“I will immediately reinstate and expand the wildly successful Trump Travel Ban on entry from terror-plagued countries, territories, and places.” Trump said.

“We aren’t bringing in anyone from Gaza, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, or Libya, or anywhere else that threatens our security.” he continued.

“We will aggressively deport resident aliens with jihadist sympathies … We will revoke the student visas of radical anti-American and antisemitic foreigners at our colleges and universities, and we will send them straight back home.” he later added.

Trump is not the only Republican running for president who wants to stop accepting migrants from Gaza.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis stated over the weekend that the United States should not admit refugees from the region, just a week after Hamas launched a catastrophic terrorist attack on Israel from Gaza that resulted in the deaths of at least 30 Americans and many others.

Team DeSantis criticized Trump when he plainly stated on Monday that Gaza would be included in an expanded travel ban.

In the national polls, Trump holds a sizable advantage over DeSantis and the other GOP candidates running for president in 2024.
