Tucker Carlson Blasts Christian Leaders For Refusing to Comment After Canadian Pastor Arrested for Opposing Drag Queens

On Thursday evening, Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson reportedly responded to the arrest of a Canadian minister who was protesting a drag queen event for children.

Derek Riemer of Mission7 was detained on Saturday after protesting a drag queen story hour at Calgary Public Library; footage shows him being thrown to the ground by guests while proclaiming “Jesus Christ is Lord” and quoting Bible scriptures regarding sexual morality.

Carlson said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s administration has actively fought Christian and conservative groups in recent years.

“On some level, all governments hate religious people, because it’s competition. And revolutionary governments, totalitarian governments, go after religious people first. That is the measure of a free country in the end: are you allowed to believe that there’s an authority higher than the people in charge of your government?” Carlson said.

The primetime host showed video of police officers coming at Riemer’s house and detaining him for mischief and raising a commotion.

“Canada has now become an atheist totalitarian state with amazing speed. In Canada, it’s now a crime to object to sexualized drag shows for children.”Carlson continued.

Carlson also mentioned “professional Christians,” who have frequently kept silent in the face of government overreach and widespread disrespect for biblical sexual norms.

“Where is David French, Beth Moore, Tim Keller, and all these people who are defending Christianity as actual Christians are being arrested for being Christians? Not a word.” Carlson concluded.
