GOP Congressman Brian Mast, a Disabled Veteran, Slams Democrat Colleague Over Poor Treatment of American Flag

Disabled veteran Congressman Brian Mast (R-FL)  reportedly slammed Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) for the disrespectful manner in which she attempted to move an American flag from one office to another.

Mast was clearly enraged when he noticed the congresswoman had placed a rolled-up American flag in a trash can in the hallway with instructions detailing where it was to be moved, without any apparent concern that it would be treated with the respect it deserves.

Today’s rescue mission: saving Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee’s American flag from the garbage can. @JacksonLeeTX18, anytime you’d like a lesson on flag etiquette, let me know. It’s one of the first things we’re taught in basic training.” The Tweet read.

“So, this is a W-T-F moment here in the House of Representatives. People moving offices and this is apparently where Representative Sheila Jackson Lee keeps her American flag, her POW flag, in the garbage can, in the trash.” Mast said in the video. ”

That’s her idea of appropriate for moving the American flag. WTF. What the — what the hell is wrong with these people?” he continued.

Mast, lost both legs and his left index finger in 2010 after stepping on an IED while clearing a path for Army Rangers in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

Some opponents soon pointed out that Jackson Lee was merely transferring the flag and did not intend for it to remain in the trash can.

While Mast admitted as this, his conculsion appeared to be that even transporting a flag in a trash can was disrespectful.
