DeSantis Out Raises Trump in First Half of 2022 and Teacher’s Union Admits He’s Better Than Them in Swing States

The first half of 2022 marked the first time former President Donald Trump failed to break the $50 million mark in fundraising.

He was also beat by $9 million in fundraising by Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis raised $45 million while Donald Trump brought in $36 million, The Daily Wire reports.

The fundraising haul cements DeSantis as a power player in the Republican party and a serious contender for president in 2024.

Another win from DeSantis comes in his fundraising for his gubernatorial reelection in Florida. He has raised more than $100 million and CNN notes that he is the first gubernatorial candidate in history to “to reach the nine-figure milestone solely through donations.”

DeSantis is also winning on education. A recent poll by the American Federation for Teachers found that swing-state voters approve of DeSantis’ position on education. His positions are more popular than the teacher’s union who conducted the poll.
