NeverTrump Group Plans 50 Million Campaign to Try and Stop Trump in General Election

An anti-Trump Republican group is now reportedly preparing to invest $50 million in a campaign aimed at preventing the former president from securing a second term in the White House.

Republican Voters Against Trump intends to showcase testimonial videos of Trump’s previous supporters explaining why they will not be backing the former president in November.

The campaign is being led by Sarah Longwell, a Republican strategist who has consistently voiced disapproval of Trump.

“Former Republicans and Republican-leaning voters hold the key to 2024, and reaching them with credible, relatable messengers is essential to re-creating the anti-Trump coalition that made the difference in 2020,” Longwell said in a statement.

The strategy is to focus on reaching out to moderate Republican and Republican-leaning voters in swing states through videos.

In 2020, the group implemented a comparable approach by distributing over 1,000 testimonials during an election that contributed to President Biden’s technical electoral victory that year.

The advertisements showcasing testimonials from former Trump voters will be distributed across various platforms including TV, streaming services, billboards, radio, and digital media.

They plan to campaign in the key states of Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Longwell suggested that the coalition formed against Trump in 2020 played a crucial role in the election, and believes that broadening the demographic in 2024 could impact Trump’s chances of returning to the White House.

Those sharing their testimonies are not praising Biden or making a case for his reelection in 2024. Instead, they are highlighting the incidents that led them to oppose the former president.
