REPORT: CNN Forced to Make Major New Cuts in Wake of Low Ratings Crisis

Reportedly, as a ratings decline continues to deplete the network, CNN is now implementing significant adjustments, and one morning program that remained from the Chris Licht era is being eliminated.

According to the report, CNN News Central, which presently airs subsequent to “CNN This Morning” at 9:00 a.m., will transition to its new time period of 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Reportedly, “CNN This Morning” presenters Poppy Harlow and Phil Mattingly will each assume a new position at the network; however, the nature of that position remains unknown.

Presently helming the morning program that premieres at 5:00 a.m., Kasie Hunt will transition to a reduced-duration segment of “CNN This Morning” from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.

As per the report, “CNN Newsroom” will commence at 10:00 a.m. and will be hosted by Jim Acosta.

Wolf Blitzer has been appointed as the temporary presenter of “The Bulletin with Pamela Brown” at 11:00 a.m., pending Brown’s return from maternity leave.

The modifications, which are also anticipated to be disclosed in an internal memorandum on Monday, will result in the dissolution of the team presently tasked with producing “CNN This Morning” in New York.

In mid-January ratings, The History Channel and INSP, a cable network that primarily airs classic western films, managed to somehow surpass the struggling news network.
