Mike Pence Takes Aim at Illhan Omar For Her Plan to Skip Important Speech on Israel

Following Rep. Ilhan Omar’s (D-MN) declaration on Thursday morning that she reportedly intended to boycott statements made by Israeli President Isaac Herzog before a joint session of Congress the following week, former Vice President Mike Pence criticized the progressive legislator.

Omar declared on Wednesday night that there is “no way in hell” that she will go to the speech.

Pence then shot back in a tweet attacking Omar for her stance.

The tweet has a link to Pence’s WinRed fundraising website for the 2024 election.

Omar highlighted Israel’s denial of entry to both herself and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) as her rationale.

The previous president Donald Trump reportedly exerted pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to ban the congresswomen’s admission, leading to the nation’s decision.

Omar was instantly criticized for the action as antisemitic, especially because she supports the boycott, divestment, and sanctions campaign that aims to undermine the legitimacy of the state of Israel.

The Christians United for Israel meeting, which will be held between July 16 and 18, is just a few days away. Herzog will speak on July 19.
