Former Navy Seal Takes on Democrat Incumbent in Key 2024 Senate Race

Businessman, firefighting pilot, and former Navy SEAL Tim Sheehy has now reportedly formally started a 2024 run for the U.S. Senate in Montana in a quest to unseat Democrat John Tester.

Sheehy is competing in one of the most anticipated contests of the 2024 season, one that may determine if Republicans capture a Senate majority.

Sheehy served in Iraq, Afghanistan, South America, and the Pacific before joining politics, earning the Bronze Star with Valor for Combat Valor and the Purple Heart Medal.

The veteran honoree and his Marine veteran wife, Carmen Sheehy, have four children together in addition to running many enterprises.

Sheehy is also the CEO of Bridger Aerospace, a Montana-based manufacturer of aerial firefighting aircraft that was created by a veteran.

“One thing that I’ve done with my businesses is create good, high paying jobs here in the state. These aren’t jobs that are dependent on out-of-state visitors or out of state revenue. These are jobs that exist here in our state that are creating careers in our state. And I think that’s a very important trajectory we want to put our state economy on.” Sheehy claimed during an interview with Fox News.

Sheehy founded Bridger Aerospace in 2014, which resulted in the creation of more than 200 employment in Montana, assisted in the expansion of Ascent Vision Technologies, and he also owns Little Belt Cattle Company, a regional beef producing business.

There are currently no other Republican candidates for the Senate primary, but Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., is believed to be seriously considering a run.

“Democrats made their blueprint for America incredibly clear during COVID, and that is more government, not less. Jon Tester has been in lockstep with that vision his whole life. And now I think it’s going to be hard for him to run away from that path because it’s very clear.” Sheehy said.
