According to a new poll, a stunningly high number of Americans are hoping that President Biden chooses not to run for reelection in 2024.
NBC News released the results of a new survey on Sunday that found that 70 percent of Americans do not want President Joe Biden to run for a second term, while only 26 percent of those surveyed want him to.
Age is cited as a factor by 69 percent of those who do not want the president, who is 80 years old, to run for a second term, and 48 percent of those people name age a key reason for their stance.
Even worse for Biden, the latest study indicates that he has a long and difficult road ahead of him in the upcoming general election.
According to the results of a study just 41 percent of Americans intend to vote for Joe Biden in 2024, while 47 percent of respondents indicate they would support the Republican contender.
In spite of these disheartening results, Joe Biden remains more well-liked than the person who is most likely to challenge him in the presidential election of 2024.
Overall, 38 percent have a favorable opinion of Joseph Biden, while 48 percent have an unfavorable opinion of him.
Ironically, despite how poor Biden’s poll ratings are, they are still much better than those of former President Donald Trump, of whom just 34% of Americans have a favorable opinion, compared to 53% who have a negative view of him.
Numbers that likely have already convinced Biden that he has more than a reasonable chance of triumphing in a future reelection bid.
