In the event that President Joe Biden seeks reelection, New York City billionaire John Catsimatidis has now reportedly declared he will devote a major portion of his money to electing a Republican as president.
In a Friday interview, the 74-year-old business tycoon expressed his displeasure with Biden and his views on the 2024 presidential election.
Major player in the political and commercial worlds of New York, Catsimatidis, claimed to have had meals with potential Republican presidential candidates in an effort to learn more about them.
Although he claims he won’t decide on an endorsement until after the primary debates.
The two most popular GOP candidates in the 2024 polling are by far former President Donald Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL). Catsimatidis declared he would support either candidate over Biden.
Catsimatidis discussed the partisanship that the nation is currently experiencing.
In 2016, he donated to both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. During his recent interview he mentioned said that it is crucial for Republicans and Democrats to communicate with one another and to avoid extremism on the Left and the Right.
According to Catsimatidis, 40% of voters will always favor the GOP nominee, while another 40% will support either Biden or the Democratic candidate. The final 20% of voters, who are more independent-minded, will decide the outcome of the election.
