Election Drop Boxes Banned in Wisconsin

The use of election drop boxes has been banned in Wisconsin by the Wisconsin Supreme Court, The Daily Wire reports.

In a 4-3 vote the state’s Supreme Court said that voters could not drop ballots off at unmanned boxes and could not give them to others to drop off for them.

The majority wrote, “An absentee ballot must be returned by mail or the voter must personally deliver it to the municipal clerk at the clerk’s office or a designated alternative site.”

The Supreme Court decision affirmed a lower court ruling that also banned the practice and Republicans have championed it.

Tim Michaels, a construction executive running for governor and endorsed by Trump said,

“I’m glad the court today sided with election integrity and affirmed our belief that unmanned drop boxes were illegal. However, to fully restore the integrity of Wisconsin’s elections, we must defeat Tony Evers.”
