On Friday, June 29, 2018, the LBJ Foundation honored U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, with its most prestigious recognition, the LBJ Liberty & Justice For All Award. Sen. McCain's daughter, Meghan McCain, accepted the award on his behalf. Following the award presentation, Mark K. Updegrove, president and CEO of the LBJ Foundation, moderated a conversation with Meghan McCain and Rick Davis, who served as the national campaign manager for Sen. McCain’s 2000 and 2008 presidential campaigns.

Meghan McCain has received more bad news, this time her new book has flopped selling only 300 copies since its launch on April 26th.
Mediaite reports, that the book, Bad Republican: A Memoir is 224 pages and the Washington Examiner reports that only 224 copies have been sold as of Friday.
One person on Amazon who claimed to have read the book gave it one star out of five:
I was so looking forward to reading this as I am an independent and appreciate someone who can see all sides,” the review reads. What I got was a whiny little girl who complained about LIFE everything in life that EVERYONE has to deal with and most do it without feeling sorry for themselves… she is beyond blessed with family support and financial resources and she still whines about EVERYTHING that is simply life. so sorry I wasted my time.
McCain has struggled to find her place in the conservative movement and after a contentious career on ABC’s The View has struggled, it appears, to gain relevance.
