Food Costs Could Surge Another 22 Percent as Russians Continue Assault

The pain in the pocket could get worse. According to the United Nations global food prices could rise by another 22%.

The two countries, according to the report account for about one tenth of the calories traded globally and the lack of exports will push food prices up.

Ukraine and Russia sit in a bread basket and presumes a 25 million ton reduction in wheat and corn exports.

The report did indicate that Russian production is unlikely to drop but exports and income could be affected by the international sanctions levied upon the country.

As inflation takes hold in America and gas prices rise more expensive food prices could be bad new for Democrats as they head into the 2022 midterms.
