Trump Slams Zelensky in New Interview

President-elect Donald Trump went to great lengths to attack Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his recent decision to launch missiles into Russia in a new interview.

He referred to this choice as a “foolish decision” and even referred to it as “the most dangerous” geopolitical development that has occurred in recent days.

Since he won the election in 2024, Trump has convened with Zelensky on two separate occasions. Donald Trump made the statement that “He wants to make peace” after having a conversation with the war leader in Paris the previous week.

“He thinks it’s time, and [Vladimir] Putin should think it’s time because he’s lost — when you lose 700,000 people, it’s time. It’s not going to end until there’s a peace,” Trump said.

Later in the discussion Trump escalated his criticism of Zelensky:

“I think the most dangerous thing right now is what’s happening, where Zelensky has decided, with the approval of, I assume, the President, to start shooting missiles into Russia. I think that’s a major escalation. I think it’s a foolish decision. But I would imagine people are waiting until I get in before anything happens. I would imagine. I think that would be very smart to do that.” Trump said.

“I would like to see Ukraine—okay, ready? You have to go back a little bit further. It would have never happened if I were president. Would have never happened—” he continued later in the discussion after being asked about protecting ‘Ukrainian sovereignty.’
