A man allegedly attempted to assassinate a pastor while he preached to his congregation at a church in North Braddock on Sunday, according to Pennsylvania police.
According to the police, shortly after 1:00 p.m. EST, Bernard Junior Polite, 26, entered the Jesus Dwelling Place Church with the intention of shooting the pastor while he was delivering a sermon.
The statement stated that charges of attempted homicide have been lodged.
Pennsylvania State Police say that a man tried to shoot a pastor in North Braddock while he was delivering a sermon on Sunday.
Police say the man tried to fire the gun but it did not go off.

The pastor stated to local media that he had never seen the suspect before that day, but made direct eye contact with him as he entered and exited the building after noticing him.
The individual who rushed in and apprehended the suspect was commended by the pastor for his bravery.
