During an operation in Africa this week, the US military reportedly killed a high-level ISIS leader as well as almost a dozen ISIS operatives.
According to a senior administration official, the operation occurred in a mountainous cave complex in northern Somalia, where ISIS was planning its expansion into Africa and beyond.
U.S. Africa Command also claimed that due to the remote nature of the sight it is unlikely that any civilians were killed or injured in the attack.

According to the official, US forces planned to take al-Sudani alive, but the terrorists’ hostile response rendered that impossible, and al-Sudani, along with ten other terrorists, were killed during the operation.
During the mission, just one service man was injured when he was bitten by an American military canine.
