Biden Admin Exchanges Russian Drug Deal for Ex-Marine With Putin

Joe Biden has made a deal with Putin in a sign of improving relations between the countries, The Sun reports.

An exchange has been made with Russia where the United States gave Russia a Russian drug smuggler and the Russians transferred and ex-United States Marine.

The exchange between the countries took place in Turkey, where former Marine Trevor Reed was exchanged for Russian pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko.

The report states:

Russian cops said Reed got drunk and allegedly grabbed the arm of an officer as he was being taken to a station – claims that were dismissed by US officials as “preposterous”.

The former Marine was sentenced to nine years in jail.

Yaroshenko, a convicted drug trafficker, had been behind bars in America. He was sentenced to 20 years in jail in 2010.

Reed’s family said: “Today our prayers have been answered and Trevor is safely on his way back to the United States.”

Putin has previously branded Reed as a “troublemaker” before meeting with Biden last year.
