Trump Makes New Vow to ‘Save Vaping’ in Second Term

On Friday afternoon, former President Donald Trump declared that he would “save vaping” if he were to be reelected to a second term in the White House.

Trump asserted in a statement published on Truth Social that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have expressed a desire to “ban everything.”

The former president also acknowledged that he assisted in the implementation of restrictions on certain electronic cigarettes in 2019, which he claimed prevented them from falling into the hands of minors.

“I saved Flavored Vaping in 2019, and it greatly helped people get off smoking,” Trump wrote. “I raised the age to 21, keeping it away from the “kids.” Kamala and Joe want everything banned, killing small businesses all over the Country. I’ll save Vaping again!” Trump wrote.

The Trump administration’s announcement in September 2019 that it would pursue all flavored vape products elicited a significant amount of criticism.

Trump subsequently reversed course in January 2020 and opted instead for a partial prohibition.

During her tenure as the state’s attorney general in 2015, Harris advocated for a California bill that aimed to prevent juveniles from accessing electronic cigarettes.
