Man Responsible for Leaking Trump’s Tax Returns Hit With 5 Year Sentence

This week marked the sentencing to five years in prison of a former IRS contractor who leaked the tax returns of numerous affluent and influential individuals, including former President Donald Trump.

Last September, the United States Department of Justice filed criminal allegations against Charles Edward Littlejohn, 38, an individual who worked as an IRS contractor between 2018 and 2020.

In October 2023, Littlejohn entered a guilty plea regarding the unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information.

The DOJ stated on Monday that Littlejohn “stole” information from Trump’s tax return while working as a government contractor. Littlejohn also took precautions to conceal his activities in order to avoid apprehension.

Additionally, he pilfered the tax return information of tens of thousands of the wealthiest individuals in the United States, including Jeff Bezos.

In federal court, Biden nominee Judge Ana Reyes imposed the maximum sentence on Littlejohn and compared him to participants in the disturbance at the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.
