The former health secretary of North Carolina, who advocated for aggressive C*VID restrictions during the pandemic, is reportedly anticipated to be chosen as the next director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by President Biden.
Dr. Cohen was instrumental in determining the state’s response to the C*VID-19 p*ndemic.
Cohen, who served as North Carolina’s top health official from 2017 to 2021, will join the agency following the departure of its current director, Rochelle Walensky, during a period of diminishing public confidence.
However, critics who query her decision-making and the efficacy of her strategies have scrutinized her actions and policies.
She is also now under fire after new footage shows her admitting that her own draconian covid policies were largely determined based on her own whims.
The Health and Human Services Secretary congratulated Cohen on her nomination earlier this week, according to the Washington Post, which first reported the news.
Cohen boasted on social media about implementing C*VID lockdowns, inconsistently following her own mitigation guidelines, and mandating that students in public schools be masked indoors regardless of vaccination status after news of her appointment became public.
She now is under fire after new footage recently surfaced videos which appear to show just how arbitrarily and thoughtlessly the lockdown policies she supported at the time were thought up and implemented.
When asked how she made decisions about which venues were allowed to open in March 2021, Cohen claimed they resulted from her "scientific team" reviewing the data. A year later she admitted she would just call her friends in other states and do whatever they were doing. pic.twitter.com/T2NGERsaOM

These measures included statewide lockdowns, mask requirements, and business restrictions, which were met with both support and opposition.
