AOC Hit With Ethics Complaint for ‘Defaming’ Libs of Tik Tok Creator

This week, the Heritage Foundation reportedly submitted a request to the Office of Congressional Ethics requesting that an investigation be opened into Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-New York, for making false accusations and “defaming” Chaya Raichik, the creator of the Twitter account known as “Libs of TikTok.”

The complaint filed by Heritage notes that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made the allegation that Boston Children’s Hospital is “now offering ‘gender affirming hysterectomies’ for young girls” in a tweet in the year 2022.

Ocasio-Cortez made this claim during a hearing held on February 8 by the House Oversight and Accountability Committee.

This tweet was a response to a video in which a physician was discussing hysterectomies; however, the physician did not mention the ages of the patients at any point in the conversation.

According to the allegations made in the complaint filed by Heritage, Ocasio-Cortez broke a House ethics rule when she knowingly and purposefully defamed Chaya Raichik through remarks such as these and others.

The lawsuit provides support for Raichik’s contention that gender affirming hysterectomies are carried out on young female patients at Boston Children’s Hospital.

Further evidence gathered by Heritage demonstrates that gender confirmation surgery has been carried out on people as young as 15 years old.

Heritage advocated that the Office of Congressional Ethics should reprimand Ocasio-Cortez, remind lawmakers that they have a duty to refrain from making false accusations, strike the accusations from the record, and press Ocasio-Cortez to apologize to Raichik.

Heritage also suggested that the accusations be removed from the record.
