Trump Trade Adviser Navarro Suggests Administration Steer Clear of Fox News: 'Why Are We Feeding Them Talent?'

Peter Navarro, President Donald Trump's senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, suggested the administration consider avoiding Fox News altogether, accusing the network of "helping the other side undermine the president."

Navarro has been locked in a public feud with Fox in recent weeks, particularly after the network abruptly parted ways with longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo earlier this month.

Bartiromo's exit came amid reports that she shared confidential Fox Business guidance with Navarro after management scrapped a planned interview with him about Trump's 2020 election claims.

Navarro subsequently accused Fox of being hostile to Trump and the MAGA movement, pointing to the departures of Bartiromo, Tucker Carlson and the late Lou Dobbs as evidence.

Fox has publicly described Bartiromo's departure as a "business decision."

On Wednesday, Navarro took his criticism a step further during an appearance on Steve Bannon's "War Room," which airs on Real America's Voice.
"Why are we feeding them talent anymore?" Navarro asked. "Why do we let anybody in this administration go on their network?"

Bannon pressed him to clarify.

"Hang on," Bannon said. "Are you saying that the Trump administration should not make members of this administration available?"
"I'm calling for that question to be seriously asked," Navarro responded. "Fox has revealed itself to be essentially undermining the Trump administration."
Navarro did not hold back in his assessment of the network.

"They are unchained right now," he said. "Fox News is much more dangerous to MAGA, much more dangerous to the Republican Party, because they wear our colors when they're, in fact, helping the other side undermine the president."

Navarro also thanked Fox and the other four television networks that make up the White House press pool for their decision to effectively suspend pool coverage in protest of the president's ban on MS NOW, CNN and Politico. He vowed that Real America's Voice would adequately take Fox's place.
In addition to his television remarks, Navarro has written multiple opinion pieces for The Washington Times on the subject.

Despite the criticism from Navarro and MAGA influencers over Fox joining the other TV networks in effectively suspending pool coverage, the administration has continued to send guests to the network in recent days.

Among them was first lady Melania Trump, who appeared on multiple Fox programs Wednesday.

The episode highlights a growing rift between some voices in Trump's orbit and the network. Navarro's comments go beyond his earlier complaints about the departures of Bartiromo, Carlson and Dobbs, raising the question of whether the administration should make its officials available to Fox at all.

Still, the administration's actions so far suggest it is not following Navarro's lead. With the first lady making the rounds on multiple Fox programs Wednesday, the White House has continued to supply guests to the network even as Navarro calls for the question of cutting ties to be "seriously asked."

For Navarro, the issue is one of loyalty. He argued that Fox presents itself as an ally while, in his view, working against the president, making it a greater danger to MAGA and the Republican Party.
