When asked about the newest charge against former president Donald Trump on Monday night, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton reportedly responded by saying it causes her “profound sadness” before seemingly laughing with glee at how a grand jury probe ended.
“Well, it’s hard to believe, I don’t feel any satisfaction. I feel great, you know, just great profound sadness that we have a former president who has been indicted for so many charges that went right to the heart of whether or not our democracy would survive,” Clinton said during a late-night appearance on the Rachel Maddow show.

On Monday, a grand jury in Atlanta indicted former President Trump on state counts related to his alleged attempts to reverse his Peach State electoral setback in 2020.
Indictments against 19 individuals, including Trump, were returned by the Fulton County grand jury following a turbulent Monday related to the lengthy investigation into Trump’s alleged attempts to sabotage the state’s 2020 election.
The 98-page indictment against the defendants, which includes Trump, was released on Monday at around 11 p.m.
In 2016, Clinton ran against Trump for president but came in second.
