According to a new report from Mediaite, Kari Lake is currently engaged in active negotiations to become a member of Newsmax following the failure of her candidacy for the Senate in Arizona.
According to insiders, Lake, a former local news reporter who has become an ardent supporter of Trump, is currently in negotiations with the conservative network for a role broadcasting on camera.
Prior to her rise to prominence as a political contender on the far right, Lake worked for the Phoenix television station Fox 10 for more than twenty years as an anchor at the channel.
Following her departure from the station, she became one of the most prominent voices in backing Trump’s allegations that the election was stolen in the year 2020.
In 2022, she also launched a campaign for the position of governor of Arizona. However, Lake refused to acknowledge defeat and instead claimed that there were irregular activities that had called the election outcome into question.
She filed a lawsuit for defamation against a local election official, whom she had blamed for her loss, because of her fraudulent assertions.
An unknown sum has now reportedly just been agreed upon as the settlement for the lawsuit.
Ruben Gallego, a Democrat, defeated Lake in the race for the Senate in 2024. Lake’s performance was not enough to win the state for Trump, who ultimately won the presidential election.
The results of the race have not been contested by her, but she has not surrendered the race either.
When Lake was asked for a response regarding her conversations with Newsmax, she answered with a text message that read, “Get better sources.”
Any discussions with Lake were rejected by a representative of Newsmax.
