On Monday, a Wisconsin magistrate ruled that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. must remain on the ballot in the state in spite of his numerous request to be taken off.
Kennedy is currently engaged in an effort to have his name removed from the ballot in battleground states.
Dane County Circuit Judge Stephen Ehlke, who supported the Wisconsin Election Commission, declared that Kennedy had missed the deadline to discharge himself in accordance with state law.
Kennedy, who suspended his presidential campaign last month and endorsed former President Donald Trump, has reportedly made efforts to have his name removed in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Arizona.
According to Ehlke, the only way for individuals to be removed from the ballot is if they pass away, as stipulated by state law.
Ehlke also opposed a petition by Kennedy’s legal team to affix decals over his name, a proposal that was opposed by the state’s election commission.
Kennedy expressed concern regarding the fact that independent candidates in Wisconsin are required to withdraw their names from the ballot prior to main party candidates.
