Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy has now stated he believes that former President Trump’s recent interview with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) highlighted “great things” about him.
“Well, at first, I don’t know where you’re going, but when you sit and look at it, Kamala was invited too, and she didn’t show. But he will go anywhere. And the great thing about President Trump is he’s the same person in the front that he is behind, and he’ll tell it exactly how he sees it, exactly how he feels it.” McCarthy said.
During the occasionally heated NABJ interview on Wednesday, Trump sparked controversy when he called ABC’s Rachel Scott “horrible” and “nasty” after she reiterated remarks he had made in the past.
Intense anger was also caused by Trump’s remarks that Vice President Harris, his Democratic opponent, had only ever promoted her Indian origin, casting doubt on her race.
In his Watters interview, McCarthy did not discuss the controversy; instead, he concentrated on Harris’ decision to skip the event.
“You’re really seeing how she’s flip-flopped all the way through. But she’s been consistent on one thing: She has had a toxic work environment the entire time she’s been a leader, in every office. And these are the most, most liberal people working for her [saying] they cannot work for her.” McCarthy concluded.
