Dr. Anthony Fauci, then-director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), says he fears someone will “kill him” for his role in the Covid-era lockdowns.
In a Wednesday interview with USA Today to promote his new book On Call: A Doctor’s Journey in Public Service, Fauci stated that he is accompanied by a security crew on a regular basis. Fauci claimed to feel safe, but “deep down” he believes he could be targeted.
“I still think deep down that there’s a possibility that somebody’s going to kill me. So, that’s a possibility I wish I didn’t have to think about, but it’s true.” Fauci said.
In 2022, a man from West Virginia was sentenced to three years in prison for making threats against Fauci and his family over email.
Republican lawmakers have slammed Fauci, with some claiming he belongs in prison.
