The campaign of former President Donald Trump announced on Friday that it had raised an eye-popping $34.8 million in the wake of his guilty verdict in a Manhattan court case.
In Manhattan, a 12-member jury convicted Trump of all 34 counts of falsifying business documents after approximately two days of deliberation in the case brought by Democratic District Attorney Alvin Bragg.
The former president’s campaign donation page displayed a 500 error message indicating that “something went wrong” following the verdict due to not being able to deal with the overwhelming rush of traffic to the site.
The Trump campaign then announced that it had raised $34.8 million following the verdict and the site’s collapse.
Major donations were received by the campaign site subsequent to the former president’s guilty verdict.
Among them was Shaun Maguire, a partner at Sequoia Capital, who announced on Twitter that he had donated $300,000.

During the trial, prosecutors contended that Trump’s “legal services” payments to Cohen were intended to secure a nondisclosure agreement with porn star Stormy Daniels in order to prevent her from disclosing information regarding an alleged affair with the former president prior to the 2016 election.
After receiving instructions from Judge Juan Merchan, the jury proceeded to convict Trump on Friday on all counts.
Merchan’s instructions informed the jury that they were not required to reach a consensus on the definition of “unlawful” in order to determine whether Trump used it to influence the election.
