Lara Trump stated on Wednesday that she is confident Republican Party voters are interested in having the Republican National Committee (RNC) cover the former president’s legal expenses.
During a campaign event in North Charleston, South Carolina, Lara Trump responded to a reporter’s question about whether Republicans would cover Trump’s legal expenses in his ongoing legal battles.
“Absolutely. That’s why you’ve seen a GoFundMe get started … people are furious right now and they see the attacks against him. They feel like it’s an attack, not just on Donald Trump, but on this country … So I think that is a big interest to people. Absolutely.” Lara Trump said.
It has been reported that the former president has thrown his support behind Lara Trump to take a prominent role at the RNC, with current Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel likely to resign soon.
“My very talented daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, has agreed to run as the RNC Co-Chair. Lara is an extremely talented communicator and is dedicated to all that MAGA stands for. She has told me she wants to accept this challenge and would be GREAT!” the former president remarked in a statement.
The support network for the ex-president allocated over $52 million from donations to cover Trump’s legal expenses in 2023.
