Donald Trump predicted that he would not face Vice President Kamala Harris or President Joe Biden in the general election in 2024 as the presumed Republican presidential nominee.
The prediction was made by Trump during an interview with the right-wing publication Breitbart News.
“He’s a cheater. He’s a scoundrel. He’s a bad guy. But in his life, he’s always been able to convince people he’s this really nice guy. I laugh when they say, ‘Trump is the evil one, and he’s the nice one.’ That’s the one thing he’s been able to do. All you have to do is look at his credentials. When you compare him today to 15 or 20 years ago, he’s a different kind of a guy. The guy can’t talk. The guy can’t put two sentences together. So I do think this: I cannot believe he’s going to be the nominee. I hope he is. But I can’t believe he’s going to be the nominee.” Trump said in reference to Biden.
The former president expressed his desire that Biden would be the Democratic nominee to reporters Alexander Marlow and Matthew Boyle, but stated that he can’t believe that would actually occur.
The reporters then inquired as to who Trump anticipated facing in the election, but the former president remained silent.
Conversely, he expressed his belief that the circumstances would culminate in a “free-for-all” among Democrats vying for the nomination in 2024.
“That, I can’t tell you,” Trump said of a potential Democrat nominee. “There will be a point at which it’s a free-for-all” Trump said.
“I don’t think that Biden will make it to the gate.” he concluded.
