On Truth Social, Donald Trump has now confirmed that he will not only skip this week’s GOP primary debate, but all of them as well.
“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had, with Energy Independence, Strong Borders & Military, Biggest EVER Tax & Regulation Cuts, No Inflation, Strongest Economy in History, & much more. I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES!” Trump crowed on his Truth Social platform.
This week, the New York Times was the first to disclose that Trump would forgo next week’s RNC debate on Fox News in favor of airing a pre-recorded interview with former Fox anchor Tucker Carlson as the live debate takes place.
The former president was previously urged to attend the event by top Fox executives over a private meal at his Bedminster club.
Trump would reportedly joke with supporters and close associates that he would skip the primary debates. In the crowded GOP field, Trump is the front-runner by a significant margin, according to the majority of national polling data.
The first primary debate of the 2024 cycle will take place on Wednesday.
Candidates must reach at least 1% in three national polls satisfying the RNC’s qualifications, or at least 1% in two national polls and two polls from different early voting states, in order to be eligible for the debate.
Candidates must also have at least 40,000 unique contributors, with at least 200 donors per state.
Candidates are also required to sign a loyalty pledge pledging their support for the ultimate Republican nominee, whoever that person may be.

Trump should attend and he already has my note. However, the Republican and Democratic Parties needs to support previous presidents from both parties, not just the democrats.
That is censorship deluxe! Any reputable Judge would not do that.
Wait until the numbers come in for this dog and dog show! Tucker and Trump, how appropriate for Fox.
Trump has a proven track record ! Other contenders have nothing much to offer as far a national experience nor accomplishments outside of their state. Haley has already shown she can’t be trusted when she backstabbed the president that gave her a great opportunity – she blew her chances all by herself. De Santis is a great Gov. and needs to stay put. They rest have no record to show that would qualify them for President. The RNC could save a lot by having no more debates as honestly I don’t think the majority of voters are interested in them.
