An counsel for former President Donald Trump reportedly claimed that the First Amendment shields him from a fresh prosecution connected to the Capitol riot on January 6 and suspected attempts to rig the 2020 presidential election.
However, former counsel General Bill Barr attempted to disprove this claim.
“I really don’t think that’s a valid argument,” Barr said during an appearance on CNN.
“As the indictment says, you know, they’re not attacking his First Amendment right. He can say whatever he wants. He can even lie. He can even tell people that the election was stolen when he knew better. But that does not protect you from entering into a conspiracy. All conspiracies involve speech, and all fraud involves speech.” he continued.
“Free speech doesn’t give you the right to engage in a fraudulent conspiracy,” he added.
Trump was accused with conspiring to defraud the United States, obstructing and attempting to hinder government business, obstruction of an official process, and conspiring against rights.
Barr is one of several former members of Trump’s Cabinet who have not supported him in his 2024 presidential campaign. The previous president has received support from just four former Cabinet officials.

Just because you say what you feel does not make you wrong with the law and supports legal actions against you. You have a right to say how you feel and why you feel that way in this country the last time I looked.
Since Trump’s “unindicted co-conspirators”are his attorneys, the claim is that following your attorney’s advice makes you a co-conspirator. This denies him the right to legal council, which is unconstitutional.
Barr was/is a joke as AG and in lockstep with the deep state of non American Obama’s communist deep state.

Nor does being AG and ignoring evidence the FBI had on the Bidens assure me that he is diligent in doing his job or correct in his opinions.
