Florida Governor Ron DeSantis reportedly blasted the Biden administration is dumping money toward Ukraine without identifying a clear goal.
The statements, made during an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” marked the first time the Republican has spoken extensively on the war in Ukraine, which the Biden administration has helped support with roughly $200 billion in aid.

DeSantis cited Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent concerns that China, which has previously supplied non-lethal military help to Russia, may be poised to deliver weapons.
This comes as tensions between the United States and China have already reached a boiling point following China’s deployment of a surveillance balloon above the United States earlier this month.
DeSantis stated that there are valid worries about Russia constituting a danger to NATO members, but that Russia is no longer has the military might that it once did.
The true threat, according to DeSantis, is presented by Russia’s ally, China.
In addition to showing its muscles against the US and offering assistance for Russia in recent weeks, Beijing has also hinted that it may attack Taiwan, which it claims as part of its sovereign territory.
“Russia has been really, really wounded here and I don’t think that they are the same threat to our country – even though they are hostile – I don’t think they’re on the same level as China,” DeSantis noted.

Well, I for one, as a survivor of the old Soviet Union hegemony, am all for the independence and freedom of Ukraina. And I applaud Zelensky for standing his ground. That said, it does NOT help the USA that Ukraina, next to Moldova, must be the most corrupt nation in Eastern Europe, now does it?? Gigantic investment in such a republic ridden with financial holes with zero accountability might be analogous to sending weekly welfare checks to a confirmed alcoholic.
