Former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) reportedly announced on Wednesday that he is considering running for president in 2024 and that he does not anticipate former President Trump to be the Republican nominee.
Hogan made the remarks during an interview with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto.
After losses in the 2018 midterms, the 2020 presidential campaign, and the 2022 midterms, Hogan believes the Republican Party needs a candidate who can appeal to a broader audience of people and win swing votes.
Many in the Republican Party blamed Trump for the party’s performance in the November 2022 midterm elections.
An event in which many of the candidates he favored during the primaries went on to lose in critical House and Senate seats, as well as in a series of different gubernatorial contests.
Hogan stated that while he supports many of Trump’s ideas, he does not believe the former president would be the Republican Party’s best contender to win the general election in 2024.
Hogan started his political career as an aide to U.S. Congressman Rogers C.B. Morton and later served as Secretary of Appointments for Governor Robert Ehrlich.
In 2011, Hogan founded a real estate consulting firm, which he operated until his inauguration as Governor of Maryland in 2015.
As Governor, Hogan is best known for his fiscal conservatism and is widely seen as a political moderate.

Will Hogan run as a Democrat or Communist?
I don’t pay any attention to RINO Hogan.
Hogan is a Rino!!! That is my take anyway.
Trump WILL WIN and will be elected President – if we have fair and honest elections. Hogan has ZERO chance of becoming president, even if Trump pulled out of the race. But he can dream.
Who?gan is a tossed.
