National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has reportedly made a strong demand from Iran, stating that the Trump administration requires the “full dismantlement” of the country’s nuclear program or else the Islamic regime will face significant “consequences.”
During an interview on CBS News’ Face The Nation, Waltz emphasized the urgency of the situation, declaring, “This is coming to a head,” and reiterated that “all options are on the table.”
Waltz underscored that Iran must completely abandon its nuclear ambitions in a transparent manner for the international community to witness.
He articulated that it is crucial for Iran to relinquish any desire for nuclear weapons, which encompasses enrichment, weaponization, and its strategic missile program.
He expressed that allowing Iran to maintain such capabilities poses a severe threat to U.S. national security, especially given the regime’s record of supporting terrorism against the West and Israel.
In his remarks, Waltz made it clear that the approach taken by the current administration is markedly different from the previous administrations.
He stated, “This isn’t some kind of tit for tat that we had under the Obama administration or Biden. This is the full program. Give it up or there will be consequences.”
While firm in his stance, Waltz also suggested that there may still be opportunities for diplomatic engagement, highlighting that the administration is willing to explore all possible avenues to ensure Iran does not possess nuclear weapons.
As tensions continue to rise, the administration’s declaration sets a clear ultimatum aimed at curbing Iran’s nuclear ambitions and enhancing regional security.
