After openly playing ball with President Trump and Republicans on Capitol Hill, Senator John Fetterman (Democrat of Pennsylvania) made an effort to dispel rumors that he was planning to switch sides.
According to the Pennsylvania senator, who spoke with Semafor, the discussion of a possible switch to the Republican Party is “amateur-hour s—.”
“If they think, ‘Oh, it’s going to be like a Manchin or a Sinema play,’ that’s just not true, and that’s not going to happen,” Fetterman added.
“It’s not going to happen. And even if I wanted to do that, this is a rocket sled to Palookaville to try and switch — I would make a pretty bad Republican.” he continued.
His devotion to the party has reportedly been emphasized in a private conversation with members of the Senate Democratic Party, as stated by the outlet.
It was reported that Fetterman’s desire to collaborate with Trump, in contrast to other Democrats who have been more cautious, was drawing attention to his potential long-term aspirations.
This information was presented in the previous week.
A significant amount of criticism has been directed on him by progressives, who believe that he has abandoned the pitch that he made to voters after he joined the Senate.
The ability of Fetterman to keep both sides guessing is true to the political brand that he has created in the battleground throughout his career, according to a Republican source in the state who has seen Fetterman’s rise up close.
However, this source stated that he did not believe that Fetterman would jump caucuses.
