Dan Scavino Confirms Trump to Snub Rogers as FBI Head

On Friday, Dan Scavino, a senior adviser to Donald Trump, stated that the president-elect does not want to choose former Representative Mike Rogers (R-Michigan) to the position of head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

“Just spoke to President Trump regarding Mike Rogers going to the FBI. It’s not happening — In his own words, ‘I have never even given it a thought.’ Not happening,” Scavino wrote on his X account.

Specifically, it is the most recent tweet that provides an insight into Trump’s plans for the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), which Director Christopher Wray would otherwise be anticipated to command until the end of his term in 2027, but Trump is expected to remove him.

In addition to serving many times in Congress and serving as the Republican leader on the House Intelligence Committee for a period of four years, Rogers was a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for around five years.

As a result, he is a more conventional choice to oversee the agency.

The remark made by Scavino came many hours after Rogers had made an appearance on “Fox and Friends” on Friday morning, where he discussed his plans for the agency management.

“People have lost faith in the FBI. Someone like me can restore that faith.” Rogers said.

“This is where the FBI should be applying its resources,” he added.

“It should not be engaged in politics. And the culture of the FBI on the seventh floor needs to be changed and has to have a kind of a reckoning. You know you can, you can cure the cancer without killing the patient, and that’s exactly what needs to happen at the FBI.” Rogers concluded.

Nevertheless, there has also been a lot of talk about the possibility that President Trump could call Kash Patel, a controversial figure from his previous administration who served in a number of national security positions.

In the beginning of this week, Vice President-elect JD Vance deleted a post after he disclosed that the transition team was speaking with potential candidates in what appeared to be a sign the incoming administration was planning on replacing Wray.

Patel is a Trump supporter who has been a source of contention inside the administration during Trump’s first term.

He has also supported Trump’s claims that the Federal Bureau of Investigation is a militarized organization that conducted an unlawful investigation of him.
