Mace Puts Forward Bill to Ban Biological Men from Congressional Womens’ Bathroom

A bill was reportedly introduced by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) on Monday that would mandate that members, officers, and employees of the House utilize restrooms that correspond to their biological sex.

The Sergeant-at-Arms of the House of Representatives would be responsible for enforcing the prohibition against males using facilities that are designated for women.

The bill states that “allowing biological males into single-sex facilities, such as restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms designed for women, jeopardizes the safety and dignity of Members, officers, and employees of the House who are female.”

As Democrats prepare for their newest member, Sarah McBride of Delaware, to become the first transgender member of Congress, the bill was introduced.

“Sarah McBride doesn’t get a say in this. If you’re a biological man, you shouldn’t be in women’s restrooms.” Mace remarked.

Republican members indicated that they were amenable to the bill and would conduct a more thorough examination.
