Fox News announced on Monday that Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly consented to an interview.
The interview with Bret Baier, Fox News’s primary political anchor, will occur near Philadelphia on Wednesday, shortly before it is broadcast on his program, “Special Report,” at 6 p.m. Eastern.
According to the network, Ms. Harris is anticipated to respond to inquiries for a duration of 25 to 30 minutes.
Fox News’s daily programming is characterized by conservative punditry that frequently expressly endorses her Republican opponent, former President Donald J. Trump, and this marks Ms. Harris’s inaugural formal interview with the network.
It could also serve as an opportunity for the Democratic nominee three weeks prior to Election Day.
Ms. Harris will have the opportunity to communicate her message to a viewership that may be hesitant about her candidacy.
The perception that she is amenable to confronting challenging inquiries may be facilitated by her willingness to appear on Fox News.
According to Nielsen’s research, she has the potential to reach a significant number of independent voters, who are more likely to watch Fox News than CNN or MSNBC.
Fox News has been the subject of long-standing animosity from senior Democratic officials, who have even gone so far as to officially prohibit the network from hosting a primary debate in 2020.
In 2016, Hillary Clinton was the final Democratic presidential nominee to give an interview to Fox News.
Despite his participation in news conferences with the network’s senior White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, President Biden has not made an appearance on the network since assuming office.
