On Tuesday evening, Iran launched a massive barrage of ballistic missiles at Israel, resulting in the evacuation of nearly 10 million individuals into bomb shelters as projectiles and interceptors detonated in the atmosphere.
Tehran was forewarned by Jerusalem that there would be “consequences.”
According to Israeli officials, approximately 181 missiles were launched during the attack.
Explosions were audible throughout a significant portion of Israel, including Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley. During live broadcasts, reporters on state television remain prone to the ground.
Iran claimed that it launched the missiles at Israel in response to attacks that resulted in the deaths of Hezbollah, Hamas, and Iranian military commanders.
It referred to the recent Israeli airstrike in Beirut that resulted in the deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and Revolutionary Guard Gen. Abbas Nilforushan.

It also noted the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, a prominent figure in Hamas, who was killed in Tehran in a suspected Israeli attack in July.
According to the Revolutionary Guards of Iran, they targeted three military bases.
In response to the unprecedented attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed revenge against Iran, vowing that they would be attacked in response.
