Comer Launches New Probe Into Kamala’s Failures as ‘Border Czar’

The House of Representatives, which is currently under Republican control, is now reportedly launching a new inquiry into Vice President Kamala Harris’s involvement in the Biden administration’s ongoing efforts to address the border crisis.

On Tuesday, House Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-KY) disclosed the investigation in a letter to Troy Miller, the Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

The letter requested correspondence and documents between CBP and the Executive Office of the Vice President regarding the southwest border or illegal immigration.

“It is unclear what actions, if any, Vice President Harris has taken to fix the border crisis. Rather, she has claimed that ‘[w]e have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation.’ The Committee seeks to understand whether Vice President Harris has ‘done anything’ to address the worst border crisis in American history.” Comer wrote in the letter.

Harris is now pursuing the presidency after President Biden decided to drop out of the race after he was exposed in a disastrous June debate performance. Harris selected Tim Walz, the liberal Democrat governor of Minnesota, as her running mate on Tuesday, prior to the public publication of Comer’s letter to Miller.

Walz advocated for Minnesota’s designation as a sanctuary state and enacted legislation that permitted undocumented immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses.

Last month, six House Democrats joined with Republicans to pass a resolution condemning the Biden administration’s inability to curtail illegal immigration and the vice president’s role as “border czar.”
