Following President Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the contest, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. likened the Democratic Party’s primary process to elections in Russia.
During an interview with Jesse Watters on Fox News, Kennedy Jr., who is currently conducting an independent presidential campaign, accused the Democratic Party of a “rigged” primary process.
Kennedy Jr. further stated that the party committed a “strategic error” by publicly endorsing Biden, which alienated voters.
“A few weeks ago, President Biden was ridiculing Vladimir Putin, who won 88% of the vote in Russia, and he said that that was a fixed election because President Putin made sure that no adversaries could challenge him, and also that he had fixed the press so the press wouldn’t cover his adversaries. The Democratic Party succeeded in doing the same thing.” Kennedy stated.
“I haven’t been allowed on any of the Democratic networks: ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN. Fox has allowed me on. You have allowed me to speak, you debate me, you give me a platform even though you don’t agree with things that I say. I think that’s the way the media is supposed to work.” he continued.
He also cited a variety of rule changes and the complete cessation of some primary elections, such as the one in Florida.
The independent presidential candidate subsequently expressed his gratitude to Fox for granting him access to the airwaves and accused “Democratic networks” of intentionally excluding him from the airwaves.
Kennedy Jr. has been a controversial figure in politics in recent years, primarily due to his vaccine skepticism, which has been subjected to scrutiny in press interviews.
He also accused the administration of intentionally withholding Secret Service protection, which he now has as a result of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump, in order to deplete his campaign funds.
