In a recent nationwide voter poll, President Biden holds a tiny advantage against former President Trump, which becomes significantly more pronounced when focusing on those who have expressed a firm intention to vote in November.
A recent Marist/PBS NewsHour poll revealed that Biden is currently ahead of Trump among registered voters, with a 51 percent to 48 percent margin.
This represents a little increase compared to a previous poll conducted earlier this month, which showed Biden leading with 50 percent to 48 percent.
According to the poll, Biden’s advantage increases to 53 percent to 47 percent when considering only those who expressed a firm intention to vote in the upcoming November election.
Among the cohort of voters who do not align with any political party, both individuals have an equal level of support, with 49 percent each.
Additionally, a small percentage of these voters, namely 2 percent, have not yet made a decision on whom to support.
Even when the survey was broadened to encompass independent and third party candidates including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, and Jill Stein, Biden continues to hold his advantage in the poll.
Even with the inclusion of those three candidates, Biden maintains a lead over Trump among registered voters, with a margin of 43% to 38%, while Kennedy garners 14% support.
Kennedy garnered the backing of 8 percent of Democrats polled, 10 percent of Republicans, and 27 percent of independents.
The survey was conducted from April 16-18 and included a total of 1,192 adults, out of which 1,047 were registered voters.
It is worth noting that the study coincided with the opening week of Trump’s trial related to hush money in New York City. The poll has a margin of error of 3.4 percentage points.
