On Sunday, former president Donald Trump entered the Super Bowl discourse by asserting that it was “impossible” for Taylor Swift, who is scheduled to attend the game with her NFL player boyfriend Travis Kelce, to support President Joe Biden.
Trump claimed Swift was receptive to his 2018 legislation that intended to close “loopholes” in digital royalty laws so that producers, artists, and others could be compensated for their work in the music industry.
He made this claim in a post to Truth Social.
Trump claimed that Swift could in no way support Biden, whom he characterized as corrupt.
“I signed and was responsible for the Music Modernization Act for Taylor Swift and all other Musical Artists. Joe Biden didn’t do anything for Taylor, and never will,” Trump wrote.

There is speculation among members of Trump’s “MAGA” camp that Swift’s relationship with Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, was orchestrated as a political maneuver or publicity stunt to secure Swift’s support for Biden ahead of the Super Bowl or in the months that follow.
Swift did support Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election.
I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @KamalaHarris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies 🍪💪😘
