Texas filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration on Tuesday, citing the federal government’s policy of removing wire that state police had installed along the border.
In order to “encourage and assist thousands of aliens to illegally cross the Rio Grande and enter Texas,” federal officials have allegedly adopted a policy of damaging Texas’ wire, claims the lawsuit.
Recently, Republican Texas Governor Greg Abbott gave the order for state officials to erect barbed wire along the border in response to a rise in unauthorized border crossings.
BREAKING: Today, I filed a lawsuit against the Biden Administration regarding their cutting razor wire at the border. Texas is and will continue to be America's greatest backstop to the failures of the federal government. https://t.co/rfzJWYqYxH

The lawsuit names the following defendants: the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas of DHS, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), Acting Commissioner Troy Miller of CBP, U.S. Border Patrol, Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens, and Acting Chief Officer Juan Bernal.
“By cutting Texas’s concertina wire, the federal government has not only illegally destroyed property owned by the State of Texas; it has also disrupted the State’s border security efforts, leaving gaps in Texas’s border barriers and damaging Texas’s ability to effectively deter illegal entry into its territory,” the lawsuit reads.

Texas has every right to deter illegal invasion when the Federal gov’t REFUSES to do their Constitutional duty and stop it! The Feds do not have a right to interfere in state matters like this.
The sovereign state of Texas has the complete and total authority over its border. Biden is not securing it and IS REQUIRED BY ARTICLE I OF THE CONSTITUTION TO DO SO.
Here’s an idea – identify those feds that actually cut the wire and charge them with malicious mischief and destruction of state property. Make them pay fines and restitution out of their own pockets and it will likely stop future crimes. A RICO case – or at least aiding and abetting crimes can probably be made against the supervisors who ‘ordered’ the troops to commit the crimes.
Oh and the ‘we were only following orders’ excuse hasn’t worked in the past
