Arizona’s Kari Lake has now officially filed to run for senator.
The fiery conservative and passionate Trump supporter has been hinting at a run for weeks, with a launch expected in early October.
After she lost the governor’s race in 2022, national Republicans were originally wary of her candidacy and mounted a multi-month campaign to contest the legitimacy of that vote.
She has, however, stayed involved in Republican politics ever since, visiting with Washington, D.C., politicians, and remaining especially close to Trump.
As the clear favorite to win the GOP primary, Lake will enter the contest.
While Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) has been actively seeking the position for months, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I) of Arizona has signaled that she intends to run for reelection as an independent, making it a potentially unpredictable three way race.
