On Wednesday morning, Donald Trump Jr.’s account on X, formerly known as Twitter, was reportedly hacked, causing inflammatory and misleading postings to circulate under his identity.
The account, which has more than 10 million followers, was hacked, a representative for Trump Jr. told The Hill.
“F*k @JoeBiden,” was part of another post from the compromised account.
After appearing on Trump Jr.’s page for less than an hour, the posts were removed just before 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
Requests for response from X’s spokeswoman were unanswered right away.
Earlier this year, Elon Musk bought Twitter and, in July, changed the name to X. For conservatives who felt their views had been suppressed under the prior ownership, including Trump Jr., Musk’s acquisition was seen as a victory.
Despite his father’s usage of Truth Social, a social media network in which the former president has a financial interest, Trump Jr. still has a sizable following and frequently utilizes the platform.
