On Friday morning, the House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of approving the declassification of all of the intelligence gathered by the Biden administration regarding the beginnings of COVID-19.
According to Axios, the vote in favor of the proposal that was supported by both parties in the House was 419 to 0.
A proposal with the same goals was passed with unanimous support by the Senate a week ago.
Within ninety days of the bill being signed into law by the president, the COVID Origins and Possible Connections to the Wuhan Institute of Virology Declassification and Release Act would mandate that all classified information concerning the origins of the COVID virus and the Wuhan Institute of Virology be made public.
Both the Department of Energy and the FBI have recently issued analyses, and both of them came to the same conclusion: COVID was most likely caused by a leak in the Wuhan laboratory.
During the early stages of the pandemic, top medical and scientific officials, such as the previous director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Anthony Fauci, debunked the theory as a conspiracy theory.
This theory is known as the lab leak hypothesis, and Republicans are the ones who have been pursuing it.
China’s refusal to comply with investigators’ demands for information and access has been a major obstacle for researchers looking into the cause of COVID.
The Department of Energy, which is home to a number of national laboratories and experts in the field of biological warfare, is the most recent member of the United States Intelligence Community to come to the conclusion that a laboratory-related accident is the most likely cause of the COVID outbreak.
The National Intelligence Council and four other agencies have decided that the natural emergence hypothesis is more likely to be correct than the lab leak explanation.
The natural emergence hypothesis proposes that COVID began in an animal species and then made its way into mankind in some way.
